Rebecca M. Lyles presents From the Errors of Others: How to Avoid Embarrassing Mistakes in Writing and Speaking. This book includes a series of short essays on various aspects of language. If you like Bulletin columnist Richard Lederer’s writing, I think you’ll like this book.
Lyles covers some of the same territory with humor but with an orientation to business writing and speaking. She gives us amusing examples of real-world errors and then provides better ways of achieving communication goals. I giggled in a lot of places. I especially liked her section on why we need editors, not that I’m biased or anything.
